Boudoir photography has certainly caught on in a big way in recent times, after it had been relegated to being nothing but a relic of the past. In this regard, given the relative lack of awareness about boudoir photography, perhaps it will be appropriate that we delve into understanding exactly what it is.

Boudoir photography essentially refers to somewhat intimate photography taken in a lady’s private bedroom, dressing room or even a sitting room. The idea is to create a personal and intimate space within which women strike a suggestive pose. The word boudoir in this context comes from the French verb bouder which essentially means to sulk or be sulky.
